OUR STORY
Eirwen was founded by Eliana McKee, MD, a pediatrician and Cosmetic Chemist in Alaska.
Life has twists and turns and Alaska was Dr. McKee’s rebirth. Originally from Brazil, Dr. McKee moved to Alaska in 2020, with her three teens, rescue dog Lilith in a long drive through the USA and Canada. Alaska was truly a rebirth, allowing Dr. McKee to find, in the magnificent nature of Alaska, herself again. Alaska is a sacred space, from the vastness of glaciers and mountains to the minute moss in the Tundra. There is an ethereal majesty in the air in Alaska.
While working full time as a pediatrician, Dr. McKee also studied cosmetic chemistry and started formulating for Eirwen. Eirwen was inspired in the Welsh name for Blessed Snow, the winter that comes before one’s rebirth. Eirwen was born to be a celebration of life, of acceptance of who we are, and of empowerment. We do not follow anyone’s metrics, we are ourselves. Eirwen is for a woman that is ready to celebrate life and her own unique beauty that comes from within.
Eirwen was also inspired by the harsh Tundra climate and the resilience of the Alaskan wilderness, Dr. McKee created Eirwen to celebrate the beauty found in every season of life.
Drawing on her background in science, Dr. McKee spent years developing distinct ,effective, formulations that feature ingredients from nature, paying close attention to cosmetic chemistry and the way active ingredients are delivered to the skin. Eirwen uses carefully selected botanical extracts, like deep-sea kelp and cloudberry to help improve your skin appearance and feel, celebrating life, transformation and resilience.
